"The Thing" - quivers from gods.

His eyes roll back and the nape of his neck tenses.
The triangle of his neck, stretches.
His arms; flex, as his fists he clenches.
He is firmly locked in place.
Stiff as a rod, he falls off the chair.
Rapidly, his eyelids begin twitching.
The air they displace; almost palpable.
With the strength of a thousand men,
He proceeds to moving his arms back and forth.
Sinking in fear,
I sought for my friend.
I call out his name,
knelt beside the small doorway of his;
I was received by the white of his eyes.
Unsure and terrified,
I can see as he foams in the mouth.
My friend,
he was not there,
in that helpless body of his.
And as he danced ferociously
to the disturbing but quiet tunes of his mind,
a gentle chaos ensues
as our classmates scurry away.
“The thing has entered him again.”
One of us says.
My hands between his head and the concrete floor,
I can hear their minds and mine wonder;
whatever was it that possessed me
not to fear the wrath of the gods
as they dealt my friend a handsome number.
Had I known what I now know today,
As my hands cradled his head over a decade and half ago,
He is having a seizure, I’d explain.

Seizures are not arrows and the gods are not to blame

Morning Glory

Arise,
to the quiet sweeps of fingers
strolling across the forearm boulevard
gentle whirlwinds of increasing diameter;
“Morning.”
The imposing stance of a Quebracho,
a fine piece of timber.
Quality response,
to match that vocal timbre.

Entrancing scents of Black Opium,
silhouettes skirted by shadows;
together,
dancing into the still of the night.
Celestial bodies perfectly align;
the tides are right
and off her chariot of fire,
she gracefully alights.
“A good morning to you too.”

Petals

Sun kissed skin
exotic like Ranunculus
fine as soot;
I’m amazed by your charm.
Daily sliver of sooth
you soothe my soul
beautiful pink Magnolia,
my good luck charm.
The friend of my heart
and wind beneath my wings
I hope you always know;
you’re a very perfect gift.

Love letters

If Valentines are the equivalent of a gentle rain, love letters have all the power and unpredictability of a tropical storm
- Jennifer Williams.

So let me take it from the T,
and write you a letter that would tinge your spine the colour of Eros
as I run my fingers through the thick curls of your tousled crown;
Primrose, Jasmine and English marigold.
I dream;
just to lay with you, each and everyday,
even until we grow old.

Shh...I'm so in love with you, there is neither describing nor defining it.
The thought of life with you;
the fun of it all, with you in whom I've found the one; arrgh..., mesmerising.
Hmmn...Touch me,
Cos with you, perfect is today, tomorrow and always.

Hold your breath gentle one.
Wrap your hands around you, yes you.
My drug, the perfect high.
Celestial drops of honeydew,
the spice of sauvignon rouge
the breathy vibrato of champagne
the joy of losing myself in you,
culminating into the fresh of moscato;
It is peace like riesling.
Creating we in the mix,
bearing perfect ideas through life's beautiful helix;
she has your nose and he my hands.

The euphoria, just sitting before my textbooks
my ears listening to the sound of your kiss
as your hands lift my cheeks
a beautiful phantasmagoria no money can buy.
I can't help smiling;
I have found my way.
The friend of my heart
whose love sees past the safety of my front
reaching behind the walls of my flaws
intruigued by my imperfect love
before whom I'm naked; truth, unafraid.
Madame allure, you're so damn riveting.

An open note to you

Hey, how do you do?
It's I,
Just letting you know
You ran across my mind again.
The third time
Or maybe 4th today
As it would happen everyday.
Through the phone,
I see you slay.
God it's so beautiful,
To hear you say;
"It's a busy day
Call me later today".
Then I miss the truth
In the silent whispers of your touch
As the wind,
Gently caresses my skin;
I hear my hair stand up
To the feel of your fingers
Running across my skin,
A gentle organomegaly
As you're felt so close,
Vicariously.
The hour ends
I helplessly keep trying
To peek into the days ahead;
With you,
Before I'm consumed again
By illegible writings, paper trails and pages.
For whatever it is I did
To earn the nation's envy;
You,
I'm thankful.
It doesn't get any better than this,
I thought you should know.

Affirmation

I am change,
Waiting to be made
In a world where hate rules;
I am peace
Still winds of calm
Spreading
Till life, on every tongue
Finds itself palatable.
I am Indelible,
Like heavy clouds on a rainy day
Palpable,
I'll be remembered
For the change I've made.
I am life
Waiting to explode; with hopes,
I'll someday achieve.
Dying to exhale
And be inhaled by the conscious mind of me and yes you.
And indeed I will,
Achieve;
The grand theorems
Of my beautiful mind
Frail cocoons of untired ideas
My resolve,
is nothing like you've seen before.
For I am destiny
Certain I will attain.
Refusing to be derailed
By social inoculation
And tired theories
Of empty classes
Garnished by the minds of
Baseless classists
And the
Loose ideologies of fascist faces;
the lost race of running racists.
For I am;
No limits, no boundaries
And in simple eloquence
A life that will be lived.
My life refuses to be played out,
And my story rejects being sung
In chords designed by another.
So my melanin speaks;
See me and hear me
No need to fear me.

20 March 2016

A beautiful mourning.

The morning begins
with beautiful whispers of winds strolling by
broken by the piercing chirpings
of bone bored merciless birds.
Your shadow hugs the wall
a beautiful silhouette
she whispers to me;
"Remain within me."
The earth quakes into ceaseless vibrations
I'm drowning
caught between the waves
waterfalls,
swallowing each drop of rain;
she leaves me vulnerable
and it ain't no shame.

The day continues
with the staccato of raindrops against my windshield,
the mellow bassline hum of the wipers
lost in trance;
an unperplexing euphoria
a subconscious refusal
of the beautifully distorted reality
unraveling before me
- Blink,
I too gently squeeze beneath
the warm sheets,
of a rather short 12 wheeler.

I hear the melisma
it's Corrine Bailey Rae
with;
"Is This Love,
Is this love; that I'm feeling?"
Numb,
Is how it feels.
Her pearly brown skin,
wide smile,
and warm hugs
appear before me,
she loves me;
"I love her more"
I tell the nothingness around me.

The day breaks
To the familiar taste of salt;
From tiny rivers I've one too many times drank,
the beeping counts of my heartbeat
Ah! There she was,
drowning in that same river.
She looks at me,
smiling, visibly disturbed.
Nothing could be said
but nothing could be more.
"Stay with me," she says,
like when "within me"
She tells me to stay.
Would have wanted nothing more,
but it was all I couldn't do.
She rubs her belly,
Kisses me and whispers
"You left your seed within."

<<.untitled.>>

We Keep our love
In little pockets
As Honey bees,
We glow like Fireflies
In the summery evening
Of the Nigerian rainy season;
Loving you,
Is beautifully easy.
In soliloquy
I delve into the depths of myself;
Weird,
To see yourself within yourself
And realising
No reflection is more true.
Walled by gates of emotions
To which someone else
Possess the keys,
She unlocks and locks them
However she would please
But that's no bother -
Pretty please,
It makes a well-formed tease.
Like Chai
Silky, rich; smooth & soothing
I'm ready for this beginning of no ending.
Even in the distance
And tempests to withstand
It all simply makes me understand
Like the snail and its shell
Nothing is more beautiful;

O.re. o.kan mi (the friend of my heart)
E.ni a f'o.wo. o.la ke. t'o f'iwa s.'e.s.o. (one nurtured by the hand of wealth but who is beautified by her character)

Than knowing together,
we still stand;
Today, tomorrow and always.

The way

The way you make me smile
I could walk a million miles
feeling nothing,
but butterflies all the way;
as they run along the bougainvillea,
in my belly deep.
Their vibrant colours
the way thinking of you makes me feel,
in the dreamy state of pastel colours
one day we seal
and the other, we open,
with a kiss good morning.
Beautiful hues of purple
as the morning shimmers
with stolen reflections of you
mottled across the room,
black, sheep fine wool for a crown,
alluring scents of a jasmine bush.
Imperfect lines,
that make for beautiful curves
your lips form an innocent smile,
you like the way I feel,
tumescent.
How everything you are,
you share,
and how you deeply care
beyond the realms of the good, bad, and ugly
if I lost all sight
not even in the dead of the night
will any star, outshine you.
O.re. o.kan mi (the friend of my heart)
e.ni bi o.kan mi (the person like my heart)
No one else,
brings as much calm and joy
the way that you do.

Happy Valentine's beautiful.

Surrender

We dive into controversy
A deep divide;
Conurbation of trumpeting rioters
Housed in a heart reduced to smoke,
She speaks;
Her words make you choke.
As you try to finagle freedom
You watch yourself,
Debased below the nothingness
she at the very least, thinks you are.
For a moment;
You die,
And as she rains;
You awaken,
and of all the noise in the air,
Nothing could be more mordant.
So you endure a couple more lines
Resolve into the safety of your silence
She finds it deafening
No, no; unsettling
She forks out some more
And somehow you manage to think;
Had she been more passionate
When we fuck;
She, the venom of your life,
must not know this thought.
Yes, she; the love of your life,
She walks in & you surrender.

Kween

Round lips and thickened hips
sheep fine wool, silk strong
a befitting crown.
The broadened bridge
that hold down fire and brimstone arms
endure struggle, embrace peace.
Bright brown windows
the infinite depths of her soul
Love, lies, fear and hope, she's seen it all.
The bubbly pears,
many rivers of tears have flown
nourished many lives, the art of his comfort.
Parallel gates of dravite
The pathway of blissful pleasures
the gateway for an unending continuum.
Indeed black; skinned, an envelope of:
Fierce, power and fluid motions
in every bit inimitable, in every way Queen.
Black and woman, as perplexing as may,
in the simplest of terms:
she's beautifully woman.

Precious

The eargasms
I prayed wouldn't end,
as your heels kissed the floor -
a quick glance
and my eyes,
greeted by your svelte self.
I feign no interest
the space between us closes
"could you please hold the elevator?"
The unsure authority,
that made the line
think itself a question -
nothing was more inviting
except the youthful grace of your face
as the brown of your eyes,
met mine.
"Thank you,"
then fractions of a moment pass
trapped in the haunting silence,
there's not enough room for both of us,
Like shrapnel wounds
my mind opened up
and out it's jagged edges
I see myself leave.
"You're welcome"
I felt myself return.
And just like a dream
I closed my eyes and woke
and three years already drove by,
there's something too familiar
It's the way you still walk
the soft Yoruba inflections when you talk
your smile and,
beautiful heart that comes with it.
I'll never have enough words
to describe simply,
the beauty of what we have -
Precious.

Chocolate Brown

The bliss of sweet miasma
rolling frames -
lost in phantasmagoria.
Images of parted lips
looking into my eyes,
they give way -
to freshly squeezed drops of panacea.
They strut across my cheeks,
jaw, neck and chest,
their gelid nature
flirting with my skin,
I think I might pour.
It provides him nurture
so I stay put,
and as the last drop
rolls off,
he feels the contraction
of tufted skin folds
her diamonds drew nearer
so I pine for more
he peaks through heavens door
she creates small lunar craters.
His desire,
unabated,
by the warmth of the cherubs
he won't stop running
even as he's bound
by the sweet echoes
in the vibrations of their choruses,
he won't stop,
until she's opened the flood gates of his haven.
My hands run down her tousled crown
lucidly black, curly and full
a slight contrast
to the chocolate brown
of her satin smooth sleeve,
a beautiful morning awaits.

A Bird's Eye View

Is your world a little less plastic?
Dead to your ideologies
Old and rustic?
Or is it much flatter than your selfish mind
Revolving around you and the several like your kind?
That use, reuse, wash and destroy
Never seeking to employ
But all sorts of discrimination and tactical evasion deploy.
Shh...Quiet,
The rugal folds as you watch from above, made of mangroves and hills.
The Cars like sprawling ants of different colours
File behind each other like a line at the till
And nothing is more beautiful
Than life itself.
As Yellow gold drops, pearmeate the atmosphere
Like grating a big fat orange - zest everywhere.
it keeps spinning,
The same cycle everyday
Day after day, we age
Slowly fading away like the green on Autumn's leaves
And I wonder,
What is there to life anyway?
Its beauty that we cannot see
Because we're busy
Fighting wars across the sea
Universally
- Peace,
She is still missing.
And unity has gone astray.
Love, is a stranger in her home
Yet in the land of the brave
Daily fear - our daily bread
Of seen battles within
And the unknown ones
Posed by the rest of the world
That to her remains largely unknown.
Life, What is it worth?
A strange person's penny?
Or the blood diamonds that flirt with our fingers?
Is your world still flat?

---untitled---

I, - am dancing in the sun,
like liquid waves of transparent beams, -
rays,
bending at the order of your powerful gaze
I, - find myself in a mystical haze.
The sheep in a herd
stand together and graze
their glossy white wool
brilliant beneath the sun's ray
such tranquility,-
unmatched unity,
I'm thinking; you, me and I, -
see myself through your eyes
as they play memories of a distant future,
pleasant fantasies of life with you,
your hair looks beautiful silk and grey.
Piece by piece,
we've laid blocks from the bottom up
a masterpiece
of mansions in the sky,
yet we rock steady
as over each mountain we fly.
What is that fear that makes me cry?
It's nothing, for you're here
and together we've chosen to try,
never looking back -
but only to see how far we've come
when in autumn the leaves start to fall
and we're standing before each other -
bare
with everything we bear but nothing to hide,
my seed, your fruits,
- our Spring,
like March, April, May
to share this life, with you -
I hope I May.
As It only gets beautiful
with each passing day.

A heart and contrasts of grey

Funny, how I'm sitting,
alone,
and thinking,
of the many memories
enveloped in my,
- mind, your business
I tell you
for nothing is selfless
about you creeping,
in and out of my heart.
That you
- left, it hanging,
bathing in your toxic grey,
infiltrating venom of lies
and craters of distrust it left behind.
I'm above the high
or maybe somewhere in the middle
dangling back and forth
between loops of lust and love
- beautiful contrast.
A shadow of everything I once knew
cloud my thinking
and your reflection before me
makes no sense
for there's nothing
just waves of frail memories
for a poisoned heart to latch on to.
We died long ago,
like faded whispers
buried in the grey skies of May.

With every step...it only gets closer.

Shaydee shay

Only in trust
Can deceit take root
Bear it's fruits,
The conceits
With which man,
His nakedness conceals.
The lackadaisical tongue
Stewing up words
That reflect the egocentiric -
State of mind,
Eccentric,
Lost in the city looms
Spending currencies of pretence
That reveal the neediness
Of his facade -
Indeed,
King in his own world
The real life river
that forgot its source.
Unfulfilled promises,
A few among
The many bridges burnt.
Liable to rust
The flesh is not to trust
And the narcissistic acrobatics
Of a man's mind
The father of all discord.

State of mind

Weak in the knees
Like bees
A humming heart
Conundrum
Tedium of the mind
Yet irresistibly
In my soul flows
Imperfectly perfected
Withering flowers
Scents remembered
Stench of attraction
Divinity of love
The perfect connection
Too alike to repel
Poison of the mind
Food for the soul
I don't need to survive
But life is not without.

Curtain call

In the loneliest hour
The perfect lover
Has taken my heart
And like a thief
Has walked away with it
I'm watching it all fall apart
Like oil slipping through my hands
Leaving behind toturing traces
Of what pieced it together
The many promises of endless forevers
And in a new dawn
You realise
That even they, come to an end.
